Finally have a First Aid Certificate!!!
To begin the 2019 school year we completed a First Aid Certificate. I had never had a first aid certificate before, so I was quite excited about getting up and heading to school to take part in the training and development.
I was the only one on staff who had never previously taken part in a first aid course, so I was feeling self conscious.
We had to do an app prior to the course which meant me only did practical acts face to face with the assessor. I found the app to be crazy that it lets you complete the tests till you pass them, so you could get the questions wrong a hundred times but still do it till you got the correct answer.
I put my hand up to be the patient for modelling the DRSABCD's.
I learnt a lot from this 4 hour course, however it was not what I expected to learn. I was disappointed that for most of it, it focussed on CPR. I wanted more on the practical first aid we might need in school. Like fractures, sprains etc.
I was buddied with Brenda for the activities and I really appreciated how helpful she was with me at explaining different things.
I can no longer say, Don't ask me I don't have a first aid certificate!
